Hunting Simulator 3 beginner guide

Your first hour in Hunting Simulator 3 is a solo walk on Colorado or Texas with a dog and a journal, not a co-op lobby. Nacon's FAQ is clear that there is no skill tree. Everything after that sentence gets more careful.

Source scope, checked 30 October 2026: gameplay tips below summarize the linked official FAQ, launch announcement and Steam achievement text. Those details are publisher or Steam single-source information; wiki-only numbers are separately marked.

What the publisher actually says

A reasonable first session

Open the reserve, take the tutorial sequences if they are offered, and learn the need-zone idea before you worry about a diamond score. The achievement 'Habitat Hunter' is 'discover a need zone', and on 30 October 2026 its global rate was already 81.3 percent, so the game shows this early. 'Poirot' is 'analyze your first track' at 92.5 percent. Those two rates tell me the opening loop is tracks and zones, not a long weapon grind. Achievement text is on achievements.

Numbers I will only attribute to one wiki

A community beginner page mentions a 590-capacity pack, tag quotas, a 22-hour sleep at a stand, and a 1,000-price dog kennel. I have not seen those figures on a Nacon post. Treat them as one wiki's claim. If you came here for a difficulty chart, AltChar names difficulty options without a table I can reproduce cleanly, so I am not inventing tier names beyond what that review already argues in prose.

Watch Nacon's gameplay overview if you want the loop in motion before you buy. Hardware questions belong on system requirements, not in a tips list.

Questions

How do I start Hunting Simulator 3?

Install from Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox, then follow the in-game tutorial sequences. There is no skill tree to respec and no co-op lobby at launch.

Which dog should I buy first?

Official posts name an American Foxhound and a coonhound. A yellow Labrador is described as a MyNacon reward and in one review. I have no ranked 'best dog'.
